Terms & Conditions
Version 2.3 · Last updated 3 September 2026
These Terms govern entry into all Chase the Ace competitions operated by Flagstick Events Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 17292845, registered office The Goods Shed, Jubilee Way, Faversham, Kent, ME13 8GD, United Kingdom ("the Promoter", "we", "us").

- Maximum one prize per participant in any rolling 7-day period (an anti-abuse control applied equally to everyone).
- Prizes are insured and fully funded before a competition goes live.
- Entries are refundable until you tee off; 14-day online cancellation right applies until then.
- Amateur golfers aged 18+, resident in the UK, playing at a participating partner club.
- Claim within 5 days; investigation within 30 business days; payment within 60 days of verification.
1. Definitions
- Competition — an individual skill hole-in-one competition on a designated hole at a partner club.
- Entry — a paid or free postal entry giving one attempt at the designated hole.
- Participant — an eligible individual who has made an Entry.
- Holed — the ball is at rest within the circumference of the hole and entirely below the level of the lip, as a direct result of the tee shot.
- Verified hole-in-one — an attempt confirmed as Holed by camera review and the checks in section 9.
- Promoter — Flagstick Events Ltd, as identified above.
2. Nature of the competition
Chase the Ace is a skill competition. A prize is payable only where a Participant holes their tee shot in a single stroke from the designated tee, in accordance with the R&A Rules of Golf. Success depends on the Participant's own club selection, swing execution, distance judgement and shot control.
The Competition requires the exercise of skill, judgement or knowledge by the entrant within the meaning of section 14(5) of the Gambling Act 2005. It is not a lottery, raffle, sweepstake, prize draw, wager or gambling product. No prize is ever allocated by draw, ballot, randomisation or first-in-time priority. Partner clubs and venues must not market, describe or promote the Competition as a raffle, draw, lottery or gambling activity.
3. The Promoter
Flagstick Events Ltd, company number 17292845, registered in England & Wales, registered office The Goods Shed, Jubilee Way, Faversham, Kent, ME13 8GD, United Kingdom. General contact: hello@chasetheacegolf.co.uk. Prize claims and data-protection requests: claims@chasetheacegolf.co.uk.
4. Eligibility
- Aged 18 or over at the time of entry.
- Resident in the United Kingdom.
- An amateur golfer as defined in section 5.
- Playing in person at a participating partner club during an open Competition.
- Employees of the Promoter, partner clubs, prize providers and their immediate families are excluded.
5. What "amateur golfer" means
An amateur golfer plays golf for the challenge rather than for financial gain and holds amateur status under the R&A Rules of Amateur Status. You are not eligible to enter or win if you:
- are, or have at any time been, a tournament professional, teaching professional or club professional;
- are a member of the PGA or an equivalent professional body;
- have accepted prize money above the limit permitted for amateurs under the R&A Rules of Amateur Status;
- have accepted payment for playing golf, or for teaching or coaching golf other than as permitted for amateurs; or
- have forfeited amateur status, or are currently suspended from amateur status, without reinstatement.
Amateur status is confirmed at entry and re-checked before any prize is paid. A prize may be withheld or reclaimed where that confirmation is untrue.
6. How to enter
Scan the tee-box QR code at a participating Competition hole and pay the published entry fee. A free, no-purchase-necessary postal entry route is available on equal terms — see Free Entry. Entry fees fund the operation of the competition and are never pooled to form a prize.
One paid entry per Competition per calendar day. You may buy one paid entry for a given Competition in any calendar day (UK time). A group entry counts as a single purchase covering its named players. This matches the free entry route and supports responsible play. If you are charged more than once for the same Competition on the same day in error, the extra unplayed entries are refunded in full — see the Refund Policy. We may allow additional entries at our discretion, for example for genuine group bookings.
7. Operating days and hours
Each Competition runs only on the operating days and within the operating hours published on that Competition's page. Entries may be purchased at any time, but a qualifying shot must be taken on an open day and inside the published hours for that day. Shots taken outside those times, or while a Competition is paused, do not qualify for a prize.
Schedules may be amended to reflect course availability, daylight, maintenance, weather or club events; the schedule displayed at the time of play applies. All times are UK local time (GMT/BST). Where a Competition is suspended mid-session, unused entries remain valid for the next open session or may be refunded.
8. Rules of play
- All attempts must comply with the R&A Rules of Golf in force at the time.
- Equipment, including clubs and balls, must conform to R&A specification. Non-conforming equipment voids the attempt.
- The shot must be played from the designated competition tee markers, appropriate to the Participant's handicap, age and gender, and never from a tee more advantageous than the tee played for the round.
- Only the first ball struck counts. Mulligans, re-tees, drops and practice strokes are excluded.
- A ball played out of bounds and replayed does not qualify.
- The green must not be specially prepared for the attempt and the pin position must not be set favourably.
- The attempt must take place during a legitimate round at the partner club, on the designated hole only.
- An independent witness aged 18 or over should be present and is recorded alongside the camera footage.
9. Verification
Every attempt is recorded by tee-box and green cameras. A claim is valid only where independent review confirms a hole-in-one made under section 8 during published operating hours. Full detail is in the Prize Verification Policy.
10. Claim procedure and deadlines
- Notify the partner club and the Promoter on the same day as the attempt.
- Submit the claim form and supporting evidence within 5 days of the attempt to claims@chasetheacegolf.co.uk.
- The Promoter completes its investigation within 30 business days of a complete claim.
- Payment is made no later than 60 days from the date the claim is verified, and typically within 7 business days.
11. Prizes
The prize value advertised on a Competition page is the amount payable in full to each Participant with a verified hole-in-one on that Competition. Prize entitlement is individual: another Participant's success has no effect on yours, and prizes are never awarded on a first-in-time basis.
Every advertised prize is insured and fully funded before the Competition goes live, so any number of verified winners can be paid in full. Prizes are fixed in value. No part of any entry fee forms part of a prize and prize values do not accumulate.
Frequency cap: to protect against abuse, a Participant may receive a maximum of one prize in any rolling 7-day period. This cap applies equally to every Participant and is assessed solely against that Participant's own history — never against other players' results.
Prizes are paid in GBP to the verified winner's own UK bank account, typically within 7 business days of verification and completion of identity checks, and in any event no later than 60 days from the date the claim is verified. Where a winner delays identity or AML checks, or supplies incorrect bank details, the 60-day period is paused until the required information is received.
12. Camera or technology failure
If the cameras or other verification technology fail, are offline, or do not capture a usable recording:
- entries purchased but not yet played are refunded in full;
- any entry played during the unrecorded period is refunded in full even though the tee shot has been taken; and
- because a claim cannot be independently verified without usable footage, no prize is payable for that period — the full refund is the entrant's remedy.
13. Cancellation and refunds
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from purchase to cancel an unused entry for a full refund. That right ends once you take your tee shot, as the service has then been fully performed at your request. Entries are otherwise refundable at any time before you tee off. See the Refund Policy.
14. Pre-paid passes and society day bookings
- An advance pass is valid until the challenge it was purchased for ends, unless a different validity period is stated at the time of purchase.
- Society, company and charity day codes are valid only on the booked event date, during that Competition's published operating hours.
- Unused society-day codes are non-refundable once the day has been booked, except where section 13 or our Refund Policy provides otherwise.
- An organiser may request one free date change up to 48 hours before the booked event. After that window, changes are handled as a support request and are not guaranteed.
- The organiser is responsible for distributing pass codes to their players and for any misuse arising from how codes are shared.
- Passes remain the property of the Promoter until activated at the hole and may not be sold or transferred for value.
- All eligibility, age and skill rules in sections 4 and 5 apply equally to holders of a pre-paid pass or a society-day code.
15. Identity, AML and fraud prevention
Before payment we verify identity and, where appropriate, source of funds. We screen winners against sanctions and politically-exposed-person lists. Where we suspect fraud, money laundering or terrorist financing we may withhold payment, retain records and report to the National Crime Agency under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and the Money Laundering Regulations 2017. We are prohibited by law from telling you that such a report has been made. See our AML & Fraud Prevention statement.
16. Data protection, camera and audio recording
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
By entering a Competition you will be video and audio recorded at the designated competition hole during published operating hours, and for up to one hour before and after them. Recording is used to verify claims, resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Routine footage is deleted after 14 days; footage connected to a claim is retained for five years. See our Camera & Audio Recording Policy for details, including how to make a subject access request or object to processing.
You may request access, correction or erasure of your data at claims@chasetheacegolf.co.uk, and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
17. Complaints and alternative dispute resolution
Complaints should be sent to claims@chasetheacegolf.co.uk. We acknowledge within 5 business days and aim to resolve within 30 days. If you remain dissatisfied you may refer the matter to our alternative dispute resolution provider, the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), 100 St Paul's Churchyard, London EC4M 8BU.
18. Tax
Prizes are generally treated by HMRC as windfalls and not subject to income tax for UK-resident amateur entrants. This is not tax advice; you are responsible for your own tax position and should take independent advice where relevant.
19. Disqualification
We may disqualify any entry that breaches these Terms, the Rules of Golf, partner club rules, or that we reasonably suspect to be fraudulent or collusive, and may void and refund the entry.
20. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the entry fees you paid in the preceding 12 months and £1,000. We are not liable for the condition of the course, the conduct of a partner club, or indirect or consequential loss.
21. Force majeure
We are not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, course closure, power or network failure, or acts of government. Affected entries are refunded.
22. General and governing law
If any provision is found unenforceable the remainder continues in force. We may assign these Terms to a group company or on a transfer of the business. These Terms, together with the Official Rules, Skill Contest Rules, Prize Verification Policy, Refund Policy, AML statement, Free Entry route, Responsible Play guidance and Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between us. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
